Prospective Graduate Students
Amanda advises MS and PhD students admitted through the Environmental Studies Department. The department admits graduate students once per year. Applications are due in December (see here for updated dates and information) and admitted students begin their studies in August the following year. Please note I do not advise students through the Masters of Environmental Management Program (MENV) program. For currently admitted students, the E&B Lab has an open door policy. We welcome students who would like to participate in our lab meetings and other activities. Please reach out to discuss. |

We are interested in working with motivated undergraduate students who are excited about environmental science and the social dimensions around conservation and adaptation.
Interested students may get involved in one of several ways:
- Complete an honors thesis in collaboration with our lab. Honors students will be jointly advised by Amanda and one graduate student researcher in the lab. Topics should be aligned with our ongoing research. Please reach out to Amanda or a current graduate student to discuss.
- Complete a UROP funded project with our lab (see here). UROP proposals are typically due in February. Please reach out at least 6 weeks in advance to discuss whether E&B lab members are available to collaborate and to discuss project ideas.
- Occasionally the E&B Lab hires funded research assistants. Open positions will be posted/linked here. We have no open positions at this time.
- We accept students interested in unfunded professional development opportunities on a case-by-case basis. Interested students should reach out with a short description of their goals, timeline (i.e., desired start and end dates), and their availability (i.e., approximately how many hours per week/month). From there we can discuss whether there may be an opportunity to work together.
